Institution: Embassy of Kosovo in Norway

Established in 2012, the Oral History Initiative is a Kosovo-based collective of researchers from different generations and nationalities. The Initiative keeps an archive of video-recorded oral histories in four languages; Albanian, Serbian, Turksih and English. The Oral History Initiative chose to preserve a collection of oral history video-recordings with visual artists and art professionals from Kosovo, along with transcripts in Albanian and English, and an eBook: The National Gallery Oral History Project. This collection consists of 200 oral history interviews and a large and varied photographic archive, which offers extensive information about local history, society and culture.
