The Louisiana Music Halls Project
Institution: Utah Valley University

The Louisiana Music Halls Project is a collaboration with the NCPTT, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and Utah Valley University and preserves the rich history and culture of Cajun and Creole music in the United States. Music halls have served the Cajun and Creole people for decades and played a significant role in the community and tell a story of a French-speaking culture rooted in the deep south.

The Louisiana Music Halls Project deposited in AWA the stories, music, and a visual experience of two famous music halls in LaFayette, Louisiana—Hamilton’s Place and La Poussiere.
