The Notre Dame Project is a non-profit branch of Factor Humanus Scientia. It is a social initiative created with the purpose of expanding and promoting the dissemination of the Human Potential Factor Science, and its application to the world, making it accessible to non-profit institutions and to projects with high social impact. It is the social vehicle of this Science, enabling it to transcend time and reach future generations.
This Science, when applied through the proprietary methodology ID One® Human Factor, operates on the individual’s internal structures, unlocking them and increasing self-awareness and inner balance, thereby releasing the potential of individuals, teams, and institutions.
In non-profit institutions: it seeks to raise performance standards by fostering inner balance in leadership through the application of the Methodology in high-impact non-profit organizations; in collaboration with Civil Defense in situations of disasters and natural catastrophes; and in projects with impact in the fields of Health and Education. Its ultimate goal is to serve the population through these institutions, thereby contributing to the enhancement of emotional balance.
In the academic sphere: it works to disseminate the foundations of the Human Potential Factor Science by distributing the trilogy “Human Potential Factor: A Science,” “Psychic Triangles: Thesis,” and “Walking and Returning” to libraries and universities around the world, as well as by introducing this Science into academia for study, research, continuity, and further development. Up to now, 138 copies have been donated to 138 universities and libraries in 34 different countries and Antarctica.
The purpose of the AWA deposit is part of the strategy to preserve the knowledge and findings that synthesize and accelerate the evolution of Individual Human Consciousness and to transform the understanding and approach to mental health in the future.
Authors of the Trilogy Human Potential Factor, a Science
The Human Potential Factor Science is authored by the Brazilians Luís Antonio Ervolino (1948–2011) and Amélia de Carvalho e Silva. In 1988, both met in the implementation of the AIDS Counseling and Training Program, when they created and applied the training to “restore the internal balance” to thousands of professionals who were on the frontline fighting HIV/AIDS in Brazil and other countries. In 1990, they founded the company Synthesis 1 - Improvement of Professional Performance, developing and applying the Principles of The Human Potential Factor Science through their own Methodology ID One® Human Factor to leaders in the private sector, consolidating this Science. In 2012, after the death of Dr. Luís, Amélia founded Factor Humanus Scientia, continuing to apply and expand the Science and the Methodology derived from it. Amélia currently continues to lead the company and the non-profit Notre Dame Project. In their journey, both chose to live in anonymity, dedicating themselves exclusively to the study and application of the Human Potential Factor Science.
Amélia de Carvalho e Silva
Brazilian, born in 1957, master’s degree in psychology from Antioch University, United States, scientist and researcher in the area of the Human Potential Factor. She has started her professional career at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, in Seattle (USA), with terminally ill patients, their families and caretakers. She also gave lectures and workshops in the United States, Japan (Keio University), Germany, England, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Switzerland, among others. Amélia has extensive international experience in training professionals from different sectors for professional performance improvement, that is, Human Potential Factor restitution. She is co-author of the book “Human Potential Factor: A Science”.
Luís Antonio Ervolino
Born in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil, psychiatrist, institutional psychoanalyst, scientist and researcher in the areas of medicine, psychoanalysis and the Human Potential Factor. He began his research through deep, intense, and exhaustive self-analysis, developed a method for that, addressed epistemological concepts undefined until that moment, with the objective of conveying apprehensible knowledge to any human being. His philosophy was that institutions are alive through the people who compose them, and everything that is alive is in movement. He worked in the public and private sectors, directed hospitals and was a coordinator and national director of several programs of the Brazilian Ministry of Health. In the HIV/AIDS Counselling and Training Program (1988), he transformed mental health principles into unprecedented training to restore internal professional balance, applied to thousands of frontline professionals in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Brazil and other countries. In 1990, he was a founding partner of Synthesis 1 Improvement of Professional Performance, a company that consolidated the principles of the Science, through their owned Methodology ID One® Human Factor. He was a consultant for PAHO, WHO and in the business sector, national and internationally. Author of the “AIDS Counselling Training”, “Multiplier Guide: AIDS”, “STUDI (1988)”, “Human Potential Factor: A Science”, “Psychic Triangles: Thesis”, “Going Forth and Back” and several other unpublished works and articles.
The Science
The Science of The Human Potential Factor is the Human Organizational Synthesis, that is, the Synthesis of the Internal Human Organization.
In this publication we share the result of decades of study, research, discoveries, formulations, synthesis, validation, and application of what we refer to as a New Science.
We dedicate it to those who work in the field that comprehends the human mind, and who work to the restoration of its well-functioning, including of their own.
This science is intended for the evolution of those who are willing to unveil the inner paths, to understand and to strengthen their own structures of Human Potential Factor, aiming at restoring the potency that constitutes it to leverage individuals, teams, and institutions.
The Science is applied through its ID One® Human Factor Methodology, which is a synthetic and precise mean to reach Individual Consciousness. The Human Potential Factor Science is an unprecedented theoretical conceptualization, based on an Abstract Formal Object of its own, delimited in its basic structure, defined in its essential components, with practical evidence at various levels that testify it.
The Human Potential Factor is structured, limited and defined in its basis, although infinitely variable and unlimited in its possible combinations with the internal and external reality of each individual; it is common and universal. Its structure contains the functional order of the Internal Human Organization (feeling, reasoning, and consciousness).
It is an expertise that has its origins in the studies of Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis.
It is responsible for understanding and identifying the states of Internal Human Structures, named Faculties of Individual Consciousness, nine in total, on which individuals depend to act professionally.
This field of study is delimited, based on the healthy parameters of these Internal Human Structures, derived from the Human Organizational Synthesis, its abstract formal object.
When applied, this Science identifies and unblocks internal structures; restores naturality and reasoning fluidity; extends and provides to each individual, access to their own content. This access awakens and expands the connection with reality; activates the individual’s natural and singular condition of materializing his potential as professional achievement.
The fundamentals of this Science were applied for the first time in the public sector: Nationally (Ministry of Health of Brazil) and internationally (WHO and PAHO), in a counselling and training program to strengthen the internal balance of healthcare professionals, who were at the frontline fighting HIV/AIDS in the late 80’s, when a still unknown disease haunted the world.
From the early 90’s until today, this Science has been applied through its Methodology to leaderships of public and private sectors, in sport and education, to improve professional performance.

This Science is oriented to the evolution of those who are willing to unveil internal paths, to understand and to strengthen the structures of their own Human Potential Factor, aiming at restoring the Potential that constitutes them to leverage Individuals, teams and institutions. A Science that through the application of its Methodology is a way to reach Individual Consciousness. This work briefly presents the journey of discoveries, which led to the identification of fundamental structures of the Human Potential Factor; it is a Synthesis of the Internal Human Organization, the matrix of the internal structures that create the external organizations, derived from the advances achieved from “Psychic Triangles: Thesis”.
Psychic Triangles | Thesis
Written from 1979 to 1982, followed by continuous studies and verification of the hypotheses until 1986 when it was registered at the National Library.
It is the origin, the bibliographic source of the other books. The work addresses hypotheses about mechanisms and internal structures in the field of mental health from the perspective of psychiatry, psychoanalysis and the Human Potential Factor in a direct and synthetic way.
At first, it is recommended almost exclusively for scientists and scholars who choose to deepen their studies and to continue the development of the Science itself, in the field of mental health and the Human Potential Factor. However, it is interesting for the reader, regardless of professional background, to have contact with the origin.
Going Forth and Back
Written in 1988.
The book presents the perspective of psychic mechanisms and the conjugation of the Psychic Triangles Thesis applied to history itself and to the perspective of humanity’s internal path: from passion to emotion, from emotion to love. It considers that the future, from the point of view of the evolution of Mankind and culture will occur when going through this internal path, from passion to love, so far, a costly one. Along the way, the perspective is to reach the intrinsic naturality, love. In other words:
